One of the leading militiamen occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge Robert 'LaVoy' Finicum gave a statement outside the reserve in Burns, Oregon, on Monday, where he defended Native American communities in the state and everywhere else in the country.
"I am very aware of what the Federal Government has done with the Native people and the tribes," Finicum stated, adding that the Bureau of Indian Affairs “rules over the res(ervations) in lots of ways, through either money or control." "The tribes need to be free," he said.
