Some 2,500 kg of roast lambs was served to over 4,000 people at a meal in Jianyang City of southwest China's Sichuan Province on Jan. 23, setting a new Guinness World Record.

Despite the freezing cold weather, over 4,000 people flocked to the city and sat around a large number of tables, waiting for the tasty lamb to be served. The organizer hoped to set a new record of serving the most roast lambs at a meal in Jianyang.

Over 200 lambs, each weighing around 12.5 kg, were roasted on the grill racks for three hours with all kinds of seasonings and coriander on at over 12:00.

The long-awaiting crowd began to gobble down the lamb after the authentication officer of the Guinness World Record announced no less than 1,500 kilos of lamb should be served and then kicked off the challenge at 19:00

The challenge ended up in victory half an hour later with the final result of 2,530 kilos. And then the officer issued a Challenge Certificate to the host.
