The capture of the terrorist stronghold of Al-Rabi’yah has been a long time coming for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies; however, it has finally come to fruition for the government forces as they raise the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic in the town-square after a short battle this morning in northern Latakia.
According to a military source entrenched with the soldiers that captured Al-Rabi’yah this morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard led the primary operation to liberate the town from the terrorist of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
Alongside the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade in Al-Rabi’yah were the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), and the National Defense Forces (NDF); these aforementioned militias played an integral role in Al-Rabi’yah’s capture this morning and all military operations in Latakia’s northern countryside.
In addition to capturing Al-Rabi’yah, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade and their allies imposed full control over the villages of Al-Rawda, Darvishan, and Touros in Jabal Al-Turkmen (Turkmen Mountains).
With the loss of Al-Rabi’yah today, the terrorist are in serious trouble in northern Latakia.
The final rebel stronghold in northern Latakia is Kinsibba; it is located at the third highest point in Jabal Al-Akrad (Kurdish Mountains).
