Child rapist flees UK mid-trial after being given time off to attend funeral

A CHILD rapist fled the UK when he was given a day off from his trial to attend a family funeral.

Choudhry Hussain, 38, flew to Pakistan halfway through his sex abuse trial.

He had permission to attend the funeral in Birmingham but he had lied about the dead relative and instead flew to Amsterdam, then Islamabad.

Hussain, of Rochdale, Gtr Manchester, had denied sexual activity with a child, two rapes and conspiracy to rape a girl of 14.

The delivery driver was convicted in his absence at Manchester’s Minshull Street crown court.

Last night the father of “Girl A”, who was abused by a Rochdale-based Asian sex gang jailed in 2012, blasted the justice system.

He said: “When will they learn?

“Surely someone should have worked out what he was planning. One of the men who attacked my daughter managed the same trick and flew to Islamabad. He’s never paid for his crimes.”

The jury heard Hussain abused his victim for three years. She stopped him raping her sister by taking her place.

Nine others were convicted of sex offences including rape and sexual activity with a child between 2004 and 2008. They will be sentenced in April.

Chinese artist supports refugees seeking asylum in Europe

Chinese contemporary artist Ai Weiwei announced that he has taken up a studio on the Greek island of Lesbos, Monday, in a bid to "be more involved" as an artist and experience the refugee crisis first-hand.

Explaining his decision, Ai Weiwei said that he had set up the studio “to push myself into the situation, it is like to jump into the water or on boat. Otherwise I become too casual and I do not like that." 

According to the Chinese artist, "we cannot in this kind of situation make other humans feel powerless, that is the real tragedy, the tragedy is not really how poor we are or how sad the war made us. The real tragedy is if we forget who we are, if humans lose their sense about humanity and human rights."

Fifth sperm whale washes up dead on British beach

A fifth sperm whale has washed up on the east coast of England after four others died in a spate of beachings in recent days.

Small groups of people gathered around taking, photographs, dwarfed by the corpses.

It’s believed a pod of up to six whales had been spotted close to the shoreline on Friday.

The cause of the death is unknown but there have been several previous examples of sperm whales becoming confused and beaching in the shallow waters of the North Sea.

Scientists from Britain’s Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme are carrying out post-mortem examinations.

EU reassures Turkey that promised aid will be delivered to help with refugees

The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, has reassured Turkey that it will get the financial aid promised from the EU to help cope with millions of Syrian refugees.

Last month the bloc agreed on 3 billion euros as part of a package of measures intended to persuade the refugees to remain in Turkey. However Italy has objected saying it needs to know how the money is to be spent.

“I am very much confident that the amount that was decided will be there in very reasonable timing,” Federica Mogherini told a news conference in Ankara after meetings with Turkish officials.

EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn, also part of a heavyweight delegation from Brussels visiting Ankara, said the bloc was closely watching whether Turkish efforts to stem the flow – which have so far included issuing work permits to Syrians and visa requirements for those arriving by air – were having any effect.

Denmark to vote on bill to allow seizure of refugee valuables

Denmark is set to pass controversial legislation that will require asylum seekers to hand over cash or valuables worth more than €1,300 to help cover government expenses on room and board.

The so-called “migrants bill” has already been revised after widespread criticism from across the political spectrum. 

One source said Denmark may set up a public auction to sell valuables seized by police from refugees, noting there is likely a national market for gold and jewelry.

What constitutes sentimental

On Monday (Jan 25) the matter was discussed in the EU parliament where Denmark’s Immigration Minister Inger Stojberg said sentimental items would be exempt as she explained the bill.

“We also think it is fair and reasonable that those asylum seekers who do bring enough assets with them should cover the costs of their food and lodging during the asylum process itself.”

European MP Sophia in`t VELD of the ALDE responded:
“How do you actually define sentimental value? If somebody travels thousands of miles risking their lives with probably just a small bag with them, is it not that every object that they are carrying IS of great personal value, otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered.”

The refugee debate is a hot topic in Denmark with the country having taken in a record 20,000 last year. The government is responding to a growing anti-immigration sentiment but the new legislation has stirred many emotions.

Member of Denmark’s Liberale Parti Birthe Rønn Hornbæk, who is a former minister said: “When you seize a refugee’s jewelry, it has a huge symbolic impact… the prime minister says there has been a misunderstanding, but there has not . Because its all there in the bill. It has really led to many thinking about the German concentration camps”.

The legislation which is designed to deter would-be asylum seekers also includes possibly more significant changes such as limiting asylum to one year at a time and a bar on refugees from bringing their families to the country for at least three years.

Denmark is also considering moving migrants into camps outside its towns ans cities, a tactic that the anti-immigration Danish People’s Party (DF) which hopes will shift the focus of government immigration police to repatriation rather than integration.

Tom DeLay Reveals Info on Clinton Email Investigation That He’s Received From ‘Friends’ in FBI

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said Monday that he has
learned from sources within the FBI that authorities are ready to indict
Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

“I have friends that are in the
FBI and they tell me they’re ready to indict,” DeLay explained
to NewsMax.

“They’re ready to recommend an
indictment and they also say that if the attorney general does not indict, they’re
going public,” he added.

Clinton’s use of a private email server to conduct official
business as secretary of state has drawn scrutiny from many of her political
opponents. The FBI launched an investigation to determine whether any laws were
broken.

“One way or another either
she’s going to be indicted and that process begins, or we try her in the public
eye with her campaign,” DeLay said. “One way or another she’s going to have to
face these charges.”

Cops Lock Man in Scalding Shower Until His Skin ‘Shriveled Off’ & He Died – Death Ruled ‘Accidental’

Miami, FL — In 2012, a 50-year-old 

mentally ill prison inmate named Darren Rainey died while locked in a 

scalding hot shower, rigged to inflict retribution on prisoners, by 

guards at Dade Correctional Institution.

Guards put the schizophrenic man in the shower as punishment for 

defecating in his cell. Instead of getting Rainey the help that he 

obviously needed, guards took it upon themselves to inflict torturous 

punishment for hours.

When guards finally checked on prisoner 060954, he was on his back and dead. According to the original documents involving his death,

investigators noted that he’d been left in the hot steam for so long 

that his skin had shriveled from his body, a condition referred to as 

slippage.

According to the Miami Herald:

Prison officers took him to the small shower, which had 

been rigged to be controlled from an adjoining room, locked the door and

left him there for up two hours as the stall filled with steam. Harold 

Hempstead, an inmate-orderly who was in a cell almost directly below the

shower, told the Miami Herald he heard Rainey screaming for 

forgiveness.

“I can’t take it no more, I’m sorry. I won’t do it again,’’ he 

screamed over and over, according to a grievance complaint 

from Hempstead.

Had Hempstead not risked his own safety to get this story to the press, no one would have even known about it.

For more than three years, not one of the guards involved in the torture and death of Rainey have been disciplined.

And now, just last week, the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s autopsy 

report concluded that Rainey died from complications of schizophrenia, 

heart disease and “confinement” in the shower — but ruled that his death was ‘accidental.’

Authorities continue to keep the autopsy report private, but sources close to the investigation told the Miami Herald

that the autopsy concluded that corrections officers had “no intent” to

harm Rainey when they kept him in the shower for up to two hours.

Apparently Rainey’s cries of agony and apologies, which compelled 

other inmates to blow the whistle, were not because he was being harmed.

“I have not reviewed the M.E. report, but it defies logic

that the conclusion is that Darren Rainey’s death was accidental,” said

Howard Simon, the ACLU’s executive director in Florida. “This is why we

called for and still need an independent investigation by the U.S. 

Department of Justice.”

The Dade Correctional Institution is no stranger to corruption and has been in the news numerous times in recent years for extreme cases of prisoner abuse.

According to local sources, 40-year-old Richard Mair hung himself 

from an air conditioning vent and left a suicide note claiming that he 

and other inmates were sexually and physically abused by guards on 

numerous different occasions.

According to the State Attorney’s office, they must now decide 

whether or not to bring charges against the officers involved. However, 

judging from the sheer length of this investigation and the recent 

‘accidental’ death claim, it is unlikely that anyone will be held 

accountable.

Wives With Benefits: Immigrants With More Than One Spouse Win EXTRA Payments Under New Reforms

Immigrants with many wives stand to make substantial financial gains under looming changes to Britain’s welfare system.

Polygamous marriages, which form a common thread in Islam, are recognised in Britain but only if they take place in countries where they are legal. Now a House of Commons library paper, published earlier this month, has highlighted a loophole that will allow additional wives coming to the UK to claim a full single person’s allowance while the husband and his first wife still receive their respective benefits.

At present additional wives receive reduced individual income support, meaning the husband and his first wife receive up to £114.85. Subsequent spouses living under the same roof receive a reduced allowance of about £40 each.

The foreshadowed changes mean some polygamous households may receive more under universal credit than under the present benefit and tax credit system. The paper said:

“The Government decided that the universal credit rules will not recognise additional partners in polygamous relationships,” the paper states.

“This could potentially result in some polygamous households receiving more under universal credit than under the current benefit and tax credit system.

“Treating second and subsequent partners in polygamous relationships as separate claimants could in some situations mean polygamous households receive more under universal credit than they do under the current rules for means-tested benefits and tax credits.

“This is because the amounts which may be paid in respect of additional spouses are lower than those which generally apply to single claimants.”

The news comes as universal credit (UC), introduced in April 2014, is applied to more Jobcentre areas, including Kent and Leicestershire, from tomorrow. More, including Cambridge and Hull, are set to introduce it before April this year.

UC is to replace all means-tested benefits and tax credits for families of working age and is gradually being introduced to new claimant groups and areas including those in polygamous unions.

This is not the first time that Islamic marriage traditions have been highlighted in the UK.

As Breitbart London reported, last year Britain’s first female sharia law judge stated that the “government cannot ask Muslims not to have more than one wife”.

That revelation came on the back of a report by the Times newspaper which claimed that Britain is experiencing a “surge” in Sharia marriages, as young British Muslims adopt a more hardline religious stance than their parents.

According to The Times:

“As many as 100,000 couples are living in such [sharia] marriages, which are not valid under UK law, experts said. Ministers have raised fears that women can be left without the right to a fair share of assets if the relationship ends, while others are forced to return to abusive “husbands”.

“A leading Islamic family lawyer warned that the increase in Sharia ceremonies among the 2.7 million-strong Muslim population in Britain was also behind a growth in ‘secret polygamy’.

“Probably a quarter of all couples I see involve polygamy issues,” Aina Khan told The Times. “There has been a huge rise in recent years because people can have a secret nikah [Islamic marriage] and no one will know about it.”

A spokesman for the Department for Work and Pensions told the Daily Express: “The previous system accommodated polygamous marriages but this Government has done away with it. Under new rules any additional partners who are unemployed have to claim benefits independently and will need to sign a claimant commitment, and look for work like anyone else. They will also not get benefits for housing costs if they are living together.”

It has been claimed that Muslim men are having up to 20 children each because of polygamy and the rise of “religiously-sanctioned gender discrimination” under Sharia Law.

Baroness Cox, a cross-bench peer, has highlighted a series of “shocking” examples of the impact of Sharia law on Muslim women in Britain as she called for them to be given greater protection.

Bigamy in the UK is a crime under Section 57 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 however in 2008, the Blair government gave the go-ahead for husbands with multiple wives to claim extra welfare benefits, so long as the weddings took place in countries where the arrangement is legal (as is permitted under Islamic law).

[Videos] US missile shield unable to repel massive Russian ICBM attack – chief of strategic missile forces

The existing US missile shield is incapable of withstanding a massive strike of Russian nuclear 

intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), the commander of Russia’s Strategic Missile Troops told a press conference.

The analysis of Russian military experts has found that “neither the firepower potential, nor the data computing capacity of the currently deployed US missile defense” installations could deal with a swarm attack of the Russian nuclear triad, Strategic Missile Troops Commander, Colonel General Sergey Karakaev, told journalists Wednesday.

He pointed to the estimates of American experts who believe an effective missile defense system must consist of various integrated types of missile interception means, be it kinetic or laser systems, deployed in all environments, including in space. Such multi-layered defense would be able to engage missiles in the air and warheads in space.

The long-term development plans of Russia’s Strategic Missile Troops have been corrected to take into consideration the predicted scale and pace of US missile defense development, the general said.

The Strategic Missile Troops plans to introduce some “brand new and effective means and techniques to penetrate any missile defense system,” General Karakaev said, stressing that Russian ballistic missiles are capable of engaging targets “anywhere in the world.”

Next-gen ballistic missiles with breakthrough characteristics, carrying new means to penetrate ABM systems, would “guarantee to neutralize emerging potential threats,” Karakaev said.

Modern ICBMs currently account for up to 56 percent of the nuclear arsenal and by 2022 all outdated ballistic missile systems are going to be replaced with new ones, Karakaev said. He has been informed that research and development work for the new heavy intercontinental ballistic missile system, Sarmat, has been completed and next year full-scale tests are set to begin at the Plesetsk military cosmodrome.

Every year, a minimum of four to five missile regiments of Yars mobile systems are entering service, Karakaev reported. In June, President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia would add 40 new-generation intercontinental ballistic missiles to its nuclear arsenal in 2015.

The design stage of the Barguzin “missile train” system has also been completed and the project is entering the next, engineering, stage, Karakaev said.

Strategic Missile Troops have conducted seven test launches in 2015, with one experimental missile operation remaining by the end of December. Next year the number of missile launches will be increased twofold, to 16 tests.

A new integrated automated system to be installed at Strategic, Missile Troops installations beginning 2016 would allow, among many other new features, to perform operative changes of mission for ballistic missiles.

This year American survey teams inspected the Strategic Missile Troops installations 12 times, General Karakaev said. Washington and Moscow exchange data on the current state of the national strategic nuclear weapons twice a year, on March 1 and September 1, he added.

Karakaev said he sees no need to deploy strategic missiles with conventional warheads against the terrorists of Islamic State, saying it would be irrational since “every target deserves its own effective and suitable killing agent.

”At the same time, Karakaev pointed out that the use of ballistic missiles would be carried out with authorization of the supreme commander, the president of Russia.

“In case there is a political decision, the Strategic Missile Troops are ready to execute any assigned mission,” Karakaev said.

Syrian Army liberates terrorist stronghold of Al-Rabi’yah and 3 other villages

The capture of the terrorist stronghold of Al-Rabi’yah has been a long time coming for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies; however, it has finally come to fruition for the government forces as they raise the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic in the town-square after a short battle this morning in northern Latakia.

According to a military source entrenched with the soldiers that captured Al-Rabi’yah this morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard led the primary operation to liberate the town from the terrorist of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

Alongside the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade in Al-Rabi’yah were the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), and the National Defense Forces (NDF); these aforementioned militias played an integral role in Al-Rabi’yah’s capture this morning and all military operations in Latakia’s northern countryside.

In addition to capturing Al-Rabi’yah, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade and their allies imposed full control over the villages of Al-Rawda, Darvishan, and Touros in Jabal Al-Turkmen (Turkmen Mountains).

With the loss of Al-Rabi’yah today, the terrorist are in serious trouble in northern Latakia.

The final rebel stronghold in northern Latakia is Kinsibba; it is located at the third highest point in Jabal Al-Akrad (Kurdish Mountains).

The more I look into Ted Cruz, the more convinced I become that he is a complete phony – a manufactured politician under the guidance of his wife’s current employers – investment bank Goldman-Sachs.

My opinion: Ted Cruz is The most dangerous man in Congress today. Why THE most dangerous? Because he is brilliant and THE most schooled in deception. He will say anything, do anything to become President of the United States. He is literally Barrack Hussein Obama’s chosen Republican replacement.

There is some sort of alliance with Glenn Beck that I haven’t figured out yet, but at this point, I get in so many tips that within a few more days, the truth will come out.

To my Christian friends: I know Cruz talks a good game. Until now, he was my 2nd choice, but now I realize that that’s all for show. Probably Rubio is now my second pick, since Huckabee wouldn’t add anything to a Trump ticket.

Cruz is a guy who can “fool the very elect.” If you want a Christian candidate to vote for in Iowa, go for Mike Huckabee, in whom I find no fault. His tax plan is the best. The only problem is that even if Trump was not in the race, for whatever combination of factors, the Huck is unelectable in today’s atmosphere. That’s a sad commentary, but seems to be the case. But, Huck is a great pick for a cabinet post, and there is no shame in that.

Donald Trump just promoted a Nazi Twitter account that showed him gassing Bernie Sanders

If you were able to kill Hitler before he rose to power, would you do it ?

GOP front runner Donald Trump has been accused of racism in the past, but on Friday morning, Trump retweeted a white supremacist website promoting Adolf Hitler.

The tweet was a jab at rival, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and showed him looking down-and-out, holding a “Vote Trump” sign.

The tweet originated from an account called @WhiteGenocideTM, which is promoting a pro-Hitler movie called, The Greatest Story Never Told. The trailer for the film calls Hitler the “saviour of Europe.” The website also includes an interview with Holocaust-denier Ursula Haverbeck.

One of the many troubling tweets from the account is an animated picture of Donald Trump dressed as a Nazi, about to gas potential Democratic rival Sen. Bernie Sanders. Sanders is Jewish.

The Twitter account is littered with anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim rhetoric and lists its location as “Jewmerica.” Its “pinned” or featured tweet shows a man saying he is Jewish, with a yellow Star of David with the word “Jude” added on.

Trump tweeted the image of Bush with the racist twitter handle to his nearly 6 million followers Friday morning. It’s not the first time Trump has been associated with the fascist leader of Nazi Germany who was responsible for genocide against millions of Jewish people and other groups.

Last month, a Trump fan page attributed a quote by Hitler to Trump, inscribing the words, “As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice” on the image of Trump. The sentence was part of a 1922 speech by Hitler in Munich.

Long before Trump hit the campaign trail, his ex-wife, Ivana, told Vanity Fair in a 1990 interview that Trump kept a collection of Hitler’s speeches on his night stand by his bed.

Portugal’s De Souza wins presidential election in the first round

Portugal’s centre-right candidate Marcelo Rebelo de Souza has won the presidential election in the first round. 

He took over fifty-two percent of the vote in Sunday’s poll after 97 percent of the votes were counted. 

That gave him more than the minimum fifty percent needed to avoid a run-off.

Turn out was low at around 48 percent.

Sixty-seven year old de Sousa had been the favourite for president, a role which is largely ceremonial, but does give him the power to dissolve parliament in a crisis. 

However before the poll he said his aim is to bring some stability to Portuguese politics. 

De Sousa’s victory was nothing less than a landslide, with 30 percent more of the vote than his nearest rival , Antonio Sampaio da Novoa, who came in at around 22 percent. The Independent candidate, a former rector of Lisbon University had widespread support from the moderate left but clearly not enough.

In third place was another left-winger. Marisa Matias, at 39, was the youngest contender and had strong support from the far-left. She ended up taking 10 percent of the vote, considerably more than had been predicted. 

De Sousa takes over from outgoing president Anibal Cavaco Silva, who’s served the maximum of two five-year terms. 

Since November Portugal has been governed by a shaky alliance of centre-left socialists backed in parliament by the Communists and Left Bloc. 

That contrasts sharply with De Souza’s centre-right politics. 

Portugal is struggling to reconcile pledges to end austerity with budget deficit cuts promied to the European Union.

Law enforcement officials deal with loss of forfeiture funds

*Feds suspend forfeiture program, keeping $1.2B from local law enforcement agencies

A Gazette check of local agencies’ use of asset forfeiture dollars found that they are spent on everything from the coloring books used in DARE and other community relations programs to operation and maintenance costs for the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office helicopter that is used in aerial marijuana crop identification and eradication. 

Equitable sharing dollars have been used to renovate a new headquarters for the Niagara County Drug Task Force and the purchase of the Lewiston Police Department’s drug-sniffing K-9 Tazer.

“Our K-9 has been instrumental for us and other agencies in the area that we share services with,” Lewiston Police Chief Frank Previte said. “This makes no sense. It’s local cases (that lead to seizures) and (the lose of funds) affects local communities.”

In North Tonawanda, asset forfeiture funds have provided improved communications equipment for detectives and covered the costs of directed patrols that target specific community complaints.

Reflections on the Paris ISIS Meeting: Talks Filled With Sinful Crime.

On January 20th a cabal of dependencies of the United States of America, Australia, Netherlands, Germany, France, and Italy, met in Paris to discuss war on Syria. One of a series of such meetings with a changing list of participants, it included the defence ministers of the countries supporting various proxy forces attacking Syria, either posing as “rebels” or allied with the American created and supported force ISIS. It was in fact a meeting of conspirators planning a war of aggression. There is no other way to put it. This was a criminal act under international law and another dramatic repudiation of the United Nations and everything the United Nations Charter stands for.

One nation that not invited was Canada, a snub that has caused consternation among the war party in Canada, but is likely the result of the new prime minister’s pledge to withdraw Canadian forces from action in Syria and Iraq. The new Canadian government has not in fact withdrawn its small forces as promised but no doubt the Americans are doubtful of the new governments reliability as a partner in crime and wanted to slap down the new government for daring to make even a mild move towards peace in our time.

The Canadian government’s pledge to withdraw its forces was a result of campaign promises made during the October elections in Canada where these military adventures are unpopular with large sections of the population which sees them as wasting their tax money fighting wars for American interests and domination of the world. The fact that such operations are not only illegal under international law but also under Canadian law as set out in the National Defence Act, and, therefore, should never have been conducted in the first place, is, inexplicably, never mentioned by any Canadian government figure, major political party or any of the tightly controlled and coordinated media, because, of course, law means nothing to criminals.

The Paris meeting was a criminal act, a war crime in fact, since the only international body that has the right to determine if, when and how military forces is to be applied in any situation is the United Nations Security Council. Any military action taken outside the mandate of the Security Council is prohibited and the Rome Statute, the statute that governs the International Criminal Court, defines such a meeting as a conspiracy to commit aggression, the worst of all war crimes, because it leads to all other war crimes that necessarily follow an act of aggression.

But the Paris meeting is not the first step in furthering this conspiracy to commit acts of aggression, war crimes and crimes against humanity in Syria. The first act was the attack made on Syria by the United States in 2011 after it and its co-conspirators attacked and destroyed Libya using the same proxy forces, the same techniques, and the same propaganda to mislead the public. Many of the same mercenaries, and thugs that they used against Libya were quickly reassigned and sent into Syria through Turkey, and Jordan where they soon linked up with armed groups from Iraq now known as ISIS. The United States, Turkey, Britain, France, and Saudi Arabia, brag about their open support for these groups, and have confessed that they have sent in their own special forces to “train” them. This act of aggression against Syria continues to escalate and came close to succeeding until Russia, at the request of the besieged government of Syria, decided to deploy its air forces in Syria in order to crush these American and allied proxy forces.

The reaction here in the west since September when the Russians began their very effective air operations has been a seething anger from Washington, to London, from Paris to Berlin, from Riyadh to Istanbul. The failure of the American attempt to conquer Syria will mean the failure of the American plan to kick Russia out of the Mediterranean, a failure to control the land routes from there to Iran for an eventual attack on Iran itself, an operation that cannot be mounted from the Persian Gulf, and a failure to place its forces on the southern flank of Russia in preparation for a pincer thrust into Russia from the south and the western plains of Poland and Ukraine. Others cite gas pipelines and war profits as reasons, but these are secondary to the principal strategy of the domination of Eurasia by the United States and those hoping to be thrown some scraps from the spoils, like the jackals they are.

None of these countries have any legal or moral right to attack Syria under the guise of going after ISIS, or Islamic State as they now call it. To obtain that right they would first have to be asked by the Syrian government for their assistance. The Syrian government does not want their “assistance”. They do not want their war. But these criminal nations refuse to talk to the Syrian government and insist on its overthrow and they refuse to take their case before the Security Council because they know they have no case and Russia and China will oppose their criminal plans. So they evade the United Nations and once again, create ad hoc “coalitions” of the criminal minded, who have no respect for international law, their own laws, the sovereign rights of the Syrian nation, or their own platitudes about peace and “human rights.”

The criminal nature and intent of the meeting was openly declared in the press conference after the meeting by the US Defense Secretary Carter who called for more forces to be gathered to “eject jihadist fighters from their headquarters in Raqqa, Syria and Mosul, Iraq and to maintain that planned defeat.” The latter phrase must be interpreted as meaning a permanent occupation of the region by American and allied forces. To back this up the America Army’s 101st Airborne Division has been assigned the role of re-entering Iraq. It seems Iraq will have no choice in the matter as the Americans continue their drive to establish a new protectorate out of western Iraq and eastern Syria which they can then use to control the region and attack Iran. Further meetings are to be held in Brussels in a few weeks.

In the meantime Russia continues to try to achieve a negotiated resolution of the war in compliance with international law and a further meeting of the Russian and American foreign ministers will be held in Geneva to discuss it but there is little hope of those talks going anywhere since the two countries approach the problem from completely opposite positions; the Russians on the basis of the national sovereignty of Syria and the recognition of the existing government as the only legitimate government, the Americans on the basis that might makes right and Syria must submit to its will. For them, international law and national sovereignty are phrases empty of all meaning.

And once again, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court remains in her office in The Hague, completely inert as nations that are within her jurisdiction plan these crimes. She has charged several African leaders for much less but then those prosecutions serve the interests of the same powers she should be prosecuting. She doesn’t even hold a press conference condemning these meetings, actions and plans for more war and insisting that these criminals adhere to international law. Nothing is said. Nothing is done. The ICC is shown to be as useless as the Security Council.

It is the Americans and their allies who are responsible for all the dead and dying in Syria, and it is they who “brought forth the monstrous mass of earthly slime, puft up with empty wind and filled with sinful crime” that is ISIS and it is clear that they will continue to use this monster of their creation as a device to escalate the war against Syria and increase their crimes but who, aside from the Syrian people, Russia and Iran can stop them? And so, the war will continue, the misery it brings will continue, and those responsible will continue to meet in beautiful settings, enjoying the fine things their crimes bring, bragging that they are saving the people from the very “terrorists” they created and control.
